Learn how to programm by using the language R.

The two-day course will be held January 24 and January 31, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 12.

This is a hands-on introduction to programming. You will learn the most important concepts of programming with practical exercises using the language R. R is a well-documented, popular, and easily accessible programming language which is especially well suited for the analysis and manipulation of research data. Built around the scientific task of data analysis you will learn how to read and access data, calculate simple statistics, index and plot the data, create functions for reoccurring tasks, as well as how to use if-else statements and loops. We will also cover best practices for writing code in R and how to export the results. No prior knowledge necessary.

We will use the integrated development environment (IDE) R Studio throughout the workshop. Please install the language and the IDE before attending the course.

This workshop is based on the Software Carpentry lesson Programming with R.
