This course addresses doctoral candidates who actively want to shape their relationship with their supervisor.
The workshop examines mutual expectations in the supervisor relationship as well as formal and informal conditions that form the basis for cooperation. How do I deal with the balancing act between dependence and academic and creative freedom? How much supervision is enough? How much too little? How do I get helpful feedback? How do I get support in my career development? How do I deal constructively with differences of opinion?
The concept of "bottom-up leadership" offers numerous strategic as well as communicative approaches to make the relationship of supervision productive, which can be tested in the workshop in a practical way.
The workshop offers short inputs by the trainer as well as individual and group exercises. In addition, the participants have the opportunity to exchange their experiences and their specific situation.
