Course further information

Learn to use the university provided Git platform.

GitLab is a web application for managing Git repositories. Since it is build around to Git, it is suitable to manage any project that mostly works with plain text files, for example software source code or TeX based documents. With its built-in issue and wiki systems, it can, in certain cases, even be the right tool to for managing a project without any files.

This course will give you a foundational understanding of GitLab’s features, so that you can make informed decisions on how to use it as a tool.

During the whole time, learners will follow along the instructors’ demonstrations, putting what they learn immediately into practice.

It is not necessary to have previous experience with Git. To get the most out of the section on task automation, a very basic understanding of Docker is helpful, but not required.
