Course further information

Funding your PhD in Germany can feel overwhelming. Apart from the quantity and variety of options available to you, as an international student or aspiring researcher, there are additional factors you need to take into account. The idea of this workshop is
  • ƒ to prime you on all the necessary information relevant to the options you have,
  • ƒ give you a feeling for the (often culturally specific) expectations set upon you by the different funding organizations,
  • ƒ help you handle the format and quantity of the necessary documents,
  • ƒ train you on how to present yourself in your application and interview,
  • ƒ guide you on how much German you need to speak to apply successfully,
  • ƒ and help you plan considering factors relevant to your visa status.
The instructor of this workshop is an international PhD candidate herself who secured German funding successfully and wants to share her knowledge with you.
Target Group: Advanced international master students who plan to do a PhD in Germany as well as international doctoral researchers at the beginning of the PhD.
