Professional Networks with Social Media (online)
Course further information
Even though social media is mostly known as a place for hobbies, influencers or people looking to share life events with family and friends, it is also valuable for professional purposes.
These purposes can be: becoming a more visible researcher, exploring possible job opportunities within or outside academia, keeping up to date with the latest developments in a scientific field or being able to contact possible mentors or employers. In general, social media can be especially effective for networking and for achieving outreach in ways that traditional channels don’t allow or foster.
In this workshop we will explore all possibilities that social media offers to young researchers to further their careers, whether they desire to stay in academia or not.
