In this course, we will teach you to work with software and data licenses.

We will help you to answer questions similar to the following:

• Which License should I use to publish my data?
• Is that software library compatible with the one my grant requires me to use?
• Are there different licenses for data and for software?

We will start with an overview of software and data licenses, their properties, and how they affect especially our scientific work with software and data. There will be exercises on realistic examples. Finally, concrete cases of participants (you) can be discussed.

The course is taught in English.
