Researchers collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines on lots of different occasions: in research projects, on academic boards and committees, and quite often in non-academic work environments. The different research backgrounds can be the reason for misunderstandings, prejudices or other challenging situations. In this workshop we will develop strategies for different people like physicists, engineers, philosophers, economists, sociologists and others to understand and work with each other.
For this purpose, you will learn how other fields of sciences and humanities typically think, reason, judge, and carry out their research. At the same time, you will deepen your understanding of your own discipline. We’ll develop an approach how to collaborate with partners from different backgrounds, and we’ll also discuss the limits of interdisciplinary collaboration.
