Successful academic presentations in English generate interest in your work, help you to network with colleagues and boost your professional profile. In this interactive two-day workshop, you will get first-hand experience in mastering the challenges of presenting your research in English and develop strategies for self-confident, competent and successful research presentations.
On day one, we will focus on your profiles (personality, presentation style) and on diverse intercultural presentation contexts (both national and discipline-specific academic cultures). We will then explore the building blocks of a presentation: verbal codes (academic diction, professional jargon), body language, voice, media and performance. On the second day, we will organise a bonsai conference, for which each participant will develop a short presentation, which we will then discuss together. You can of course work on current projects, talks and presentations!
