How to apply for a scholarship for PhD Funding in Germany
courseFurtherInformation
A German scholarship is an attractive way for (aspiring) PhD candidates to fund their project. The advantages of a scholarship can include: belonging to a prestigious organization, networking, having international research paid for, exclusive events and seminars, and more freedom due to financial independence from your supervisor.
Nonetheless, knowing if a scholarship is right for you can be a daunting task. Deciding where to apply, knowing how much time and effort to invest, or mastering all application documents can prove challenging.
In this workshop, we aim to
- give you a general idea of scholarship institutions in Germany,
- aide you in deciding which ones suit you best,
- go over what the application process entails,
- work out personal application strategies and
- develop a realistic timeline and work plan for the application.
Please note:
This workshop is designed for students preparing for a doctorate as well as PhD candidates in an early stage of their doctorate. It is suited both for national and international students.
This workshop is open to students of the University of Jena who are preparing for their PhD.
